We've just had a lovely day out on Lake Windermere with Windermere Lake Cruises. The weather was just perfect as we set off from Bowness on Windermere and travelled to Ambleside, where we did a little shopping and had lunch at The Watersedge Inn on the lake before making the return trip.

I actually just came back from Mauritius and I had a great time! I can only recommend from my own experience. I ordered three excursions from a website called Mauritius Attractions few weeks before I arrived to Mauritius. I think you should check this website, they have a very big selection of excursions and tours, their service was very professional and the prices are very good (better then in other tour agencies we found while in Mauritius). In anyway – don't book any excursions through your hotel – they really charge double prices.
I hope this tip helps. Bye.

    Cicerones de Buenos Aires

Posted by Sissi 4 February 2009

This service allows curious travelers to be paired up with local residents who want to share the hidden attractions and treasures within Buenos Aires. Each tour can be catered towards your particular interests, perhaps museums, coffee shops or arts performances, and the tours are available in a number of languages. This is a brilliant way of getting to know the capital through the eyes of someone who lives and breathes the city, cannot recommend it enough.

    Ocean Beach

Posted by giantkatestacks 1 February 2008

Ocean Beach is a great place to stay, near enough to get to San Diego zoo (15 minutes' drive), Sea World (10 minutes' drive), Mission beach (10 minutes' drive) and the centre of town (15 minutes' drive) but with a great Glastonbury-on-sea vibe.

It's not intimidating at all for the family as some online descriptions have said (much less so than Newquay) - it's still pristine and polite and, if you stay in the Ocean Beach hotel, you can watch the surfers from your balcony.

We were there in Dec/Jan and, apparently, it gets a lot busier and louder in the peak seasons and at spring break but out of season it was fantastic.

The Go and Connect discount card

Posted by karlijn 19 October 2007

Barcelona can be pretty expensive for tourists, so when you go there I can give you a good tip: buy a discount card; it saves you a lot of money! I bought one, named the Go and Connect discount card, which was only 12 euros. With this card I was able to go out for almost nothing. I got discounts in a lot of shops, restaurants, clubs, transport rentals and more!

If you are interested you can check out their site to see where you can get the card and where you can get discounts - I think it is a must in an expensive but amazing city like Barcelona.
