It is a lovely bed and breakfast in Nicolosi, the closest town to Etna.
Despite its central position the bed and breakfast is surrounded by a peaceful and quiet environment.

Secret Garden B&B, Puerto Iguazu

Posted by elloello 25 November 2011

Before we went to The Secret Garden last month, I was somewhat sceptical as to how anywhere could have elicited so many wholly favourable remarks. But there's absolutely no doubt at all: for us the Secret Garden lived up to every possible expectation.
From the very first moment that John shows you round town and then offers a cooling drink, through the excellent (and seemingly endless) caipirinhas, tapas and snacks in the early evening, to the extremely generous and tasty breakfasts with home-made jams, and the lovely evening conversations with John as a charming host: it is an entirely delightful and special experience.
John's advice on how best to divide your precious time in Iguazu - as well as on restaurants, transport or any other question - can be followed unhesitatingly.
We spent three full days in Iguazu and enjoyed our time enormously. Even the after-effects of a huge tropical storm that wiped out some two-thirds of a precious day was leavened by John's generosity and our fellow guests' company.
The staff who cannot do too much to help, bouncy Roxy the Jack Russell, the chalet room that has everything one could want, the lovely garden ... and, above all, John. Truly a very very special experience.

Lutyens Bungalow

Posted by brybish 30 October 2011

A retreat from the vibrant chaos of Delhi, Lutyen's Bed and Breakfast is located among mature gardens, in the grounds of a beautiful colonial bungalow. Family run, with elegant rooms, free afternoon tea and home-cooked Indian dinners on request, this is a welcome change to the city's overpriced five-stars or dingy budget hostel accommodation. The rooms have wonderfully silent a/c, flatscreen tv, wifi, ayurvedic toiletries and spare towels for the pool. Many attractions within walking distance, or a short taxi/metro ride, the airport is easily accessible too. A luxurious home away from home, a real find! Doubles from £70 per night.

SeaSpray Guest House

Great B&B run by Diane and Paul, two lovely people full of warmth. Great breakfasts, ranging from fruit and cereal healthiness to the 'Full English Breakfast', which is also very healthy the way they do it.
Right on the sea front so you can step out of the front door and be right by the sea.

Adventurer's Guesthouse

Posted by Dave2007 21 August 2011

If travelling from Vancouver to Banff this has to be the place to stay to break the journey. The welcome, breakfast and accommodation is first class. Stay at least a day to go up Revelstoke Mountain and Bigbie falls. Eat at the Village Idiot in Revelstoke town. What a lovely place to stay where nothing seems to be too much trouble.

Philip Johnson's Glass House

Posted by Skjeggen 3 August 2011

My wife and I went to the incredible Philip Johnson Glass House, just outside of New Canaan. We thought it would be just the house, but turned out to be a garden of architectural gems. Highly recommended.

Stay Chez Frank at Silvermine Tavern in neighbouring Norfalk, CT. Great place.

La Nube del Angel

Posted by turbodurso 25 July 2011

La Nube del Angel is a small, homely and really comfy hotel in Puerto Piramides on the Peninsula Valdes. For those who aren't familiar with the place, it's the best spot to go whale watching in the whole of South America, truly an amazing spectacle.
I recommend the place for it's great view over the bay - we could see whales jumping from our bed!
The posada is run by a lovely young couple who recently moved there and will go out of their way to make you feel at home. The breakfast is a killer with homemade bread and jams, and the location is a must!

The hotel is located in the "quiet" part of town, very easy to find with the simple street naming policy of the village. You will find the Nube on the Segunda Bajada al Mar, literally the second way down to the sea.

Oliveri B&B Rome

Posted by flytravel 11 July 2011

My wife and I stayed two weeks in Rome staying at Grand Bed & Breakfast. Was a great choice, lovely accommodation in very central location and the staff were really helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and well appointed, and the bed comfortable and we had daily breakfast served in-room at an agreed time. The room was cleaned every two days, we had fresh towels every two days and bedding every three days. We were able to walk from the hotel to many sights. The area around is packed with restaurants, which some are quite cheap, and Rome's buzzing night life is next door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, all in all not a luxury hotel but is perfect if you are looking for somewhere nice to sleep at an affordable price.

Secret Garden is a small B&B of only three rooms. The host John could not have done enough for us. He picked us up from the bus station (even recommended the best company to travel with from Buenos Aires) and gave us a tour of the town. Each night we had cocktails amid the most relaxing environment. John organised a driver to take us to the Brazilian side of the falls and also recommended the fantastic bird park that we really enjoyed. The bus to the Argentinian side of the Falls picks you up at the end of the street. Would highly recommend Secret Garden to anyone interested in seeing the majestic Iguazu Falls. A really delightful place to stay.

Podere del Leone

Posted by camera1 21 June 2011

Try this self catering house and apartment on a organic olive farm on the hills outside Florence. It's not just the views, the peaceful countryside, the organic produce, the barional rooms, cosy kitchen or the refreshing pool that make this place special. Nor is it even the location which is excellent for touring Tuscany, or trips to the highlights of Florence (just a bus ride away), Pisa, and Siena. It is the warmth and welcome of the family who run the farm and live on site. Nothing is too much trouble! We sailed past all the queues at the Uffitzi museum and places of interest due to their prior telephone bookings, making the holiday with children stress free. Magical memories!

Boutique B&B: 30 minutes drive into the hills from Malaga airport. It was the perfect place to decompress before embarking on our tour of Andalucia. Lots of private perches to take in the panoramic views, stylish decor and luxury where it counts - beds and showers. Stunning food too and gay friendly hosts with joie de vivre.

Jardin du Segala

Posted by merlin69 9 June 2011

This Bed & Breakfast offers wonderfully friendly accommodation with optional evening dinners close to St Cere. The rooms are very comfortable and well decorated but it is the hosts that make this place worth visiting. Nothing is too much for them and the evening dinners are delicious (they provide vegetarian meals for those who want them). It is a renovated farmhouse in a beautiful location perfect for exploring the area around St Cere and the Dordogne Valley. Excellent value.

Tucked away in the south easternmost corner of Spain, in a remote valley in Cabo de Gata national park, surrounded only by desert hills and sea, is El Jardin de los Suenos - the Garden of Dreams. This little oasis, a short walk from the village of Rodalquilar, is an old farm that's been converted into a boutique B&B by an expat German photographer and his wife.
It's a break from the norm: you won't get obsequious staff fawning over you, room service is non-existent, the rooms are more functional than luxurious, and it's strictly not for families. It's charm is in it's isolation, the quaintness of the converted farm buildings and the beautiful gardens and views.
We chose to stay here for a few nights after a family wedding further up the coast. At first we thought the enforced isolation might become boring but having no distractions bar sitting by the pool, reading under an olive tree, or sunbathing at the nearby "clothing optional" beach, turned this into the most relaxing break we've ever had.
There are distractions for those who still need them: it is excellent walking country, the village of Rodalquilar contains a fascinating mining museum as well as a handful of restaurants, the bustling harbour town of San José makes for a pleasant evening, and further afield are the sets where many spaghetti westerns were made.
However for seekers of peace and tranquility like ourselves, these are mere distractions from the main appeal of El Jardin: the chance to escape from the modern world and dream.

Pen Y Cefn is a brilliant guest house in the historic town of Amlwch on the north coast of Anglesey. We visited as a family and had a brilliant time. The entire house is spotlessly clean and when you come back from a day exploring you can tell everything has been aired out, it's got that lovely smell. The rooms are beautiful, decorated with Laura Ashley (don't see that in a guest house very often), with sparkling bathrooms. The hosts - Jenny and Colin - are absolutely fabulous. They are truly lovely, and always happy to help. Oh, and the crux of any B&B - the second B - BREAKFAST. Colin's breakfast is cracking. He makes exactly what you want, the attention to detail is astounding. Even the butter comes in little curls! It's five star luxury for a two star price tag - a real treat.

Caravan Serail B&B

Posted by abromwich 27 May 2011

I searched for three days on the internet before I found this place hidden away on a site about Ixelles, in the south of Brussels. It is a charming and enormous old townhouse with three B&B rooms on the top floor all fitted out with their own bathrooms (surprisingly difficult to find with cheap chambres d'hôte in Brussels.) The ground floor is a gallery and an organic breakfast is served either here or the a beautiful garden that the gallery gives onto. The space is also a meeting place for a documentary photography collective to which the host, Stephanie, belongs and there is a dark room hidden away in the cellar. Stephanie was incredibly welcoming and happy to answer any questions about the city. At bewteen 60 - 80 euros a night its average for a chambre d'hôte in Brussels and very affordable when you you see the rooms. The attic room in particular is breathtaking- floor to ceiling windows look over the garden. Ixelles itself is fun and arty and I much preferred staying here than the centre of Brussels. Definitely recommended!
