Tarthesh Hotel is a four star boutique hotel in middle-eastern/Sardinian style.
It is located in Guspini and houses just 39 rooms.
Its strong point is given by its beautiful garden, made of green lawn and exotic plants and crossed by streams.
I stayed in the hotel and especially enjoyed its Jacuzzi area!
La Maison is a lovely boutique hotel with a real garden feel. It's a bit out from town (although you can get tuk-tuks), but you really feel apart from the crowds around "Pub Street". Food is really good, and a great pool. Would definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed in this wonderful boutique guesthouse and were bowled over by the warm hospitality of the hostesses and the stylish surroundings, which included interesting contemporary artwork. This attractive house, built in 1903, is conveniently located in a leafy quiet area of Cape Town with good local restaurants nearby and within walking distance of the city centre. As well as our comfortable en-suite bedroom with doors onto the lush garden (that included a small swimming pool), there were sumptuous reception rooms, patio areas, an internet room with free internet use and even a pamper spa with a variety of massage treatments. But apart from all these wonderful amenities it was the little personal touches that we remember – a pack of cough lozenges produced when it was noticed I had a sore throat; and the relaxing music, low lights and chocolate that greeted us when we returned after an evening out. Nothing was too much trouble - just writing about it makes me long to return.

It's a bit out of the way, being down by Grant's Park but the Blackstone is a lovely boutique hotel - it steps you back in time (founded in 1910) but has a really modern interior. Bright stripy carpets and massive chandeliers. Our room had a great view over the lake and the gym was a welcome air-con relief from jogging in the overpowering humidity.
Downstairs there was a gorgeous tapas restaurant which served an amazing fig and prosciutto salad - perfect after all those deep pan Chicago pizzas.
A funky 'hostel' (more like a boutique hotel) bang smack in the middle of Fes Old Town. Rooms are spacious and elegantly-furnished, and the shower room is so fabulous you don't mind sharing it.
There's a roof terrace full of sofas (and even an outdoor shower) and also a very useful kitchen and washing machine. Great breakfast, Wi-Fi, cheap rates.
I stayed at the Grove last week for one night and wished that I'd stayed for longer. The room was suitably glamorous, but understated at the same time.
I also ate a sumptuous dinner in the restaurant and was hugely impressed with the food on offer. There was an emphasis on quality local ingredients and the wine list was broad without being off putting.
Everything about the Grove was fantastic. Go and stay there.

Pleasant trendy hotel with great retro 60s styling. Conveniently placed, walking distance of BTS (Nana). Rooms are a bit small, but wet season rate is about 2600 p/n.
Two hours free wi-fi - 50 baht p/h after that. Good staff. Roof-top bar with prices even higher! Car parking too. Roar with laughter when you see the size of their pool!

We chanced upon this gorgeous apartment in the central Born area. Initially we were looking for the boutique hotel experience, but found this to be a much more exclusive, original and affordable option.
Very nice shopping on the Paseo de Borne, we loved Custo Barcelona, and The Mix is a great cocktail lounge bar nearby!
It's a boutique hotel in the Soho district of New York. Not cheap but miles better than the massively overrated Soho Grand. Has the most amazing rooftop bar with views across Manhattan. You can book direct but it's worth trying a few websites to see if you can get a discount.

Market Hotel is a rare find, and one so good that I'm tempted not to tell, but here goes.
It's a beautiful, affordable (doubles are 80 euros) boutique hotel in the centre of Barcelona, with a great restaurant that's open for lunch and dinner (and always full).
My words cannot do it justice, but check out the photos website. The best hotel shower I have ever experienced, and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel located in the Old Town. Very swish! The staff were very friendly and the hotel has a great wine cellar in the basement - very cosy and tucked away. The sommelier was equally impressive, persuading us out of our comfort zone and recommending some excellent wine. We ate in the restaurant, which was, again, great. In fact we could find no fault with the hotel at all.
Here’s an example of the level of service: I ran out of batteries for my digital camera and the reception went off to find some and gave me new batteries - no charge. Unusual in this day and age. Definitely worth a treat if you are heading this way.
It's located on the edge of the Old Town, within easy walking distance of all the sights, restaurants and bars.

Guesthouse West is a small boutique hotel in Notting Hill. I like it because the staff are friendly (it doesn't lose intimacy as large hotels can) and its decor is both classy and comfortable. Being there simply makes you feel good about yourself.
The food and drink are a little expensive for my taste, but if you're in the mood to treat yourself, they are of high quality.

Interesting hotel if you're looking to stay somewhere a bit different. Their rooms are designed and painted by artists from around the world. Great location - three minutes’ walk from Union Square, one block from Chinatown. Rooms are small but this hotel is great for anyone more interested in unique/niche/boutique than luxury.

A rather charming boutique hotel opposite the Betlem Chapel, bang in the centre of the Old Town, a few minutes stroll to the Old Town Square or to the King Charles Bridge. Not particularly cheap - I think we paid around £100 B&B, but ideal if you're splashing out and want to stay somewhere full of character and in the Old Town itself.
As you come out of the hotel facing the chapel, turn left and two minutes' walk brings you to a (student) bar, warm and friendly, with food (and comfortable sofa seating) available. Brill for a drop of strong liquor, beer, mulled wine, or all three.
About 300 metres across the other side of the King Charles Bridge, in Mala Strana, at "At the Black Eagle" bistro, we had a three course evening meal, which included pork and dumplings or fried carp, plus a bottle of Moravian wine... £20 for the two of us. Brill again!
A man in a yellow anorak persuaded us to take a 2 hour lunchtime boat ride on the Vltava with as-much-as you-can-eat buffet and free(ish) drinks. It was raining. It was great.
The Sex Machines Museum (including naughty film) just off the Old Town Square is worth visiting especially if there's a group of senior citizens from Liverpool there as well. Said one, "I'd rather go to the dentist"! Thrice brill!
