If you after a unique view of Brisbane and it surrounds I can recommend doing the Story Bridge Adventure Climb. Get the ferry there and finish off with a pint at the Story Bridge Hotel.

Famous old hotel in Kangaroo Point with a fantastic view across the river of the CBD. Good tucker in three different bars or in the adjoining steak house (Deery's Restaurant). Annual cockroach racing on Australia Day.

Lovely views and beautiful photogenic structure. Best view is eastbound; you pay to get in but you're free to leave.

The first statue to be placed on Charles Bridge was that of St. John Nepomuk in 1623. St. John Nepomuk was arrested by Wenceslas IV in 1393 after displeasing the King. He died under torture and his body was thrown from the Charles Bridge into the Vltava. On the base of the statue are bronze relief panels depicting his martyrdom. These have become polished over time as touching the reliefs is said to bring luck and there is usually a fair queue of people testing this out.
