Chalet Tissières is set in a spectacular location at the foot of the Les Bossons Glacier and close to Chamonix town centre and ski lifts. It has amazing views of Mont Blanc and Aiguille du Midi from the balcony and hot tub. Check out the photos on their website - the sunset is beautiful, hence the name Ice & Orange.

It's family-run with amazing service, modern luxuries/facilities and excellent cuisine and wine - I cannot recommend this place enough. Simply the best week's skiing my friends and I have ever had. Will definitely go back again.

    Absolute Alps Ski Chalets

Posted by HelenBrowny 6 October 2007

Our group had an excellent week in Chatel with Absolute Alps earlier this year and have booked again for next.

The beginners all conquered the blue runs and the experts found great thrills on the 'The Wall'.

Beautiful chalet, helpful and friendly hosts and what bliss to be cooked for so scrumptiously!

We just wanted to spread the good word about the marvellous chalet we stayed in last winter. Fantastic chalet with the most stunning location. Perfect for families - kids played outside safely on large chalet grounds whilst us adults enjoyed the wonderful hot-tub, situated just to one side of a mountain stream that flows by the chalet. Food was superb and the chalet staff were very happy and friendly. We are going back next season. Can't recommend the place enough.

    Chalet Michelle, Venosc

Posted by sammouth 23 March 2007

Small private ski/cycle chalet owned by an english couple, Bryan and Michelle. Amazing views, nice and secluded from the main (overdeveloped) deux alpes resort in Venosc (small village down the valley). Good but not gourmet food - hearty and healthy mountain stuff.

Bryan is an amazing skier and knows the place like the back of his hand. Also handy with a ski pole for on-slope enforcement.

We paid £100 a night for two people, fully catered (with wine!).

    Marmotte Mountain Retreat

Posted by paulando 12 October 2006

I stayed here last season and loved it. The chalet is surrounded by beautiful pine forests and the Grands Montets, Chamonix's best resort, is located really close to the chalet. You can't go wrong.

Chamonix is a one-hour transfer from Geneva. Marmotte Mountain Retreat is located at the base of the world-renowned resort of Argentiere.

    Colletts Mountain Holidays

Posted by anniescotland 12 August 2006

Colletts is a company that specialises in activity holidays to the Dolomites, they operate in Arabba near Ortisei and also in Pedraces. You can go in summer for walking and now in winter for skiing, snowshoeing and other activities. The best thing about this company is the quality of the front line staff - most are young and enthusiastic and nothing is too much trouble. We arrived at 2.30am after a horrendous journey over the mountain passes, and not only was a member of staff waiting to greet us, he had a wonderful cold platter of food, and hot drinks waiting for us, all with a smile. This is a chalet type of holiday where you can dip in and out of activities as you like. Have a look at their website, the photos alone will make you want to go.

    Chalet in the Mountains

Posted by travelman 28 October 2005

Last season, we found some superb family friendly accommodation in Les Houches, a village just a short drive from Chamonix centre. There is a great garden for sledging and snowman building, the children loved the ski school and Helen (the owner) was very helpful in organising lessons, ski passes etc. They supply everything from baby alarms, cots, high-chairs even toys (which anyone with any experience of packing with little ones will know these things are priceless) and what's more they didnt cost extra! We had such a great time we already booked again for this winter.

    Chalet Lounge

Posted by fluffyb 28 October 2005

Chalet Lounge is a beautiful old savoyard chalet, with hot tub and sauna and all the luxuries you want after you've been skiing. Tom and Sarah who run it look after you really well and Sarah cooks amazing food. It's in a really great location, about half way along the valley, so you get really good access to all the different ski areas. We can't stay away!

They are a really cool independent holiday company with three chalets in Chamonix. My friends and I have stayed with them for the last three years and have always had a wicked time!

They offer everything from lift passes and airport transfers to great meals and hot tubs for very reasonable prices.
