    Taormina

Posted by SamanthaCollins 9 September 2009

Perched high on the hillside overlooking the sandy bay of Giardini Naxos, Taorimina is a cosmopolitan town with a Greek past. Walk along the main pedestrianised street filled with designer shops and restaurants, to stop at the piazza with a stunning view of the bay dominated by the magnificent Mount Etna.

Take the windy road up even higher to the small village of Castel Mola which looks down on Taormina and the bay, or take the cable car down to Isola Bella and enjoy a swim in the clear sea.

Taormina is in the province of Messina, nearest airport is Catania. Reachable by motorway, shuttle bus or train.

    Brighton marina

Posted by Rockleewannabe 12 May 2009

Brighton marina is a great place to visit for a family day out. There's Sun, Sea and good ole' fish 'n' chips. The marine has a great selection of pubs, restaurants and shops and there's always something suitable for everyone.

The beaches are great for dogs, whether they like running along the beach after a ball, or going for a refreshing dip in the sea. There is a concrete path which runs between the top of the beaches and the cliffs which is perfect for a nice family cycle to Rottingdean where they do the most fantastic fish and cheerful chips!

All in all it's the perfect destination for a superb family day out, all day any day!

    Las Vegas Gun Range

Posted by stueyx 31 May 2007

Gun shop and shooting range where you can fire a huge range of pistols AND fully automatic weapons - for just $80 you get to fire two 20 rounds machine gun mags and about 50 rounds of pistol ammo.

They are very safety minded and have an instructor with you at all times. For an experience you can't get anywhere else in the US (fully automatic weapons are not legal in other states) let alone the UK it is great. The staff are all very friendly and will answer questions about guns and their use and will let you pose for photos with any of their huge range of retail items.

    YS Falls

Posted by fatjim 23 October 2006

A waterfall which you can swim in with rope swings to swing and jump off. It's great fun and the water is cool and so a lovely break from the heat.

I hired a scooter from Negril and went on my own. I had a small tourist map, it's easy to find as it's well signposted. Also the journey from Negril is great with a good opportunity to see towns and countryside away from the tourist areas. Leave jewellery at home and take just money for they day. Alternatively most hotels will do coach trips there.

    Alcatraz

It's so important to book tickets in advance! There is very little chance that you'll get a place on a trip otherwise. The audio facility available is brilliant, it really makes the tour mean something.

    La Vallee Blanche

Posted by ewanwallace 17 October 2005

One of the world's most famous off piste runs needs no introduction. Take the hair-raising Aiguille du Midi liftright to the top (3,842m), then follow the itinerary all the way back downto the Montenvers train, which takes you back down to town (1,042m). There's plenty of time to take in the stunning scenery on this 22km trip, but it's glacier all the way so go with someone experienced or hire a guide.
