Great food, nice affordable lunch menu with top quality food, nice atmosphere and quite relaxed.
Stumbled into this place after visiting the Santa Maria del Mar church in the Born area of Barcelona.
Enjoyed it so much went back for dinner and surprisingly the menu was quite broad with various European dishes. Service was excellent which I found slightly lacking in other restaurants in Barcelona.

My recommendations are always carry an umbrella, get a Tote a Luxe Guide, visit the Night Safari and to stay at The Scarlet: excellent location and contemporary decor at a value.
Also, eat at the food stalls and buy a Makansutra if you can find it, or read the Calvin Trillin article in the New Yorker to determine which food stalls to visit.
If you're flying in and out of Changi, and just staying overnight, stay at the Changi Village Hotel. Check out the shops on 33 Erskine Road. Treat yourself to a foot massage in Chinatown.

Wrapid is a new food service brand offering awesome hot food wrapped up with flavours from around the world. Food that has been developed with a focus on flavour.
I'm a huge fan of Wrapid. Their wraps have become a definite daily craving of mine and I would recommend it to anyone, whatever your taste may be.
I began with the chicken tikka wrap, wrapped in a delicious flat bread naan. After that I was fascinated and hooked. The menu extends out to a wide variety of global mouth watering flavours, which include assorted pizza, Mexican, and Chinese stir-fry wraps, as well as a very wide range in traditional British food. The full English breakfast wrap is a must.
Just when I thought I was full enough, I came across the dessert menu. If sticky toffee pudding wrapped in a crepe does not tempt anyone, then I don't know what does. Wrapid also offers vegetarian options and fantastic student offers that you simply cannot resist. The service was superb and there is always a friendly face to help those indecisive minds.

Brilliant food, and that's why I am taken here by my hosts in Madrid who seek a change from the usual.
The most popular delicacies are patatas con bacalao, cocochas de merluza y centollo, zortziko de almejas, solomillo dantxari -al vapor, bacalao al pil-pil, con aceite de oliva virgen y pimiento, and tarta fina de manzana.
You could avoid these and try the more innovative dishes. I appreciated the excellent use of seasonal products and dishes such as 'pil pil' and their cod croquetas.

Los Feliz is a great little neighborhood in north-east Los Angeles, near Griffith Park (I'm a little biased since I live there...). Anytime but mid-July through August are the best times to go - it can get pretty hot some days during those months. Check out Hillhurst north of Franklin, and Vermont north of Hollywood. Lots of great restaurants, bars and hang-outs (Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on Hillhurst has a great patio with firepit). Griffith Park is also nearby, with plenty of great hiking trails, pony rides for the kids, picnic areas, etc.
East of Western, north of Franklin, West of Riverside drive, south of Griffith Park. Get there from the west side by taking the 10 east, 110 North, 5 North, get off at Los Feliz Blvd and head west. Griffith Park will be to your right as you drive down Los Feliz Blvd.
Very pleasant cafe, bookshop, and CD store in the heart of Condesa. I spotted Carlos Monsivais sipping coffee on a table opposite and felt very much the intellectual about town. Good selection of fiction, history, art books (in Spanish).

A vegetarian restaurant that also serves some meat dishes. Vegans also catered for. Great fresh food, menu changes every two weeks, puddings to die for. Really.
Atmosphere buzzy and fun. Great value with three courses for £13.50. Licensed with fine wines and welsh beers.

Just spent a month in Florence and ate in this wondrous restaurant seven times! Great food, terrific atmosphere, superb service, discounts and many free drinks. They gave us two bottles of wine on our last night. Watch the laid back guys in the kitchen and appreciate the effortless charm and expertise of the staff. Fantastic!

In summer the temperatures in Amsterdam, like in any city, can get quite unbearable. Hire a bike and head for the green Bijlmermeer in the south-east of the city, only half an hour from the centre.
On summer weekends there is the Kwakoe Afro-Caribbean festival, which makes Notting Hill look like a family picnic. Football, food and kaseko and no multicultural pretensions.
When you get really hot and even the ginger beer doesn't work, take a dive in the sparkling clear waters of the Gaasperplas.

Khaana is a cafe restaurant offering Pakistani/northern Indian/Kashmiri cuisine. The food is excellent - authentic homestyle and a lot of Asians eat in there. It offers great value for money and is very reasonably priced.
The decor is gorgeous - contemporary, stylish and light with mirrored and iridescent mosaic. Free wi-fi is available and you can just pop in for a coffee or chai and read the newspapers. The desserts are pretty good too. You can also eat and drink al fresco. This is the only decent Indian restaurant in Catford and surrounding areas. Absolutely worth a visit.

Tiny, cosy traditional seafood restaurant nestling in the old market hall, in the centre of town. Puerto Varas has lots of good seafood fresh from the nearby coast, and caught by local fishermen, and this is up there with the best.
Intimate, popular with locals and excellent value for beautiful fish and pisco sours. The coffee is very ordinary as often in Chile, so stick with the very good wine.

A great laid back vegetarian and local food cafe, relaxing, comfy sofas, teas, decent espresso, juices, pastries, great cake, soups, and light meals. Good place to read the paper, plan your excursions or wind down after hiking. In fact there are lots of good cafes and eating places in this up and coming frontier tourist town.

Savina is a modern Mexican restaurant in Liverpool city centre. Visited here a couple of times over the last year and it's lovely. Visited again this weekend, was very busy and the service was still very good.
The staff are lovely and food is really nice. I had the Alambre De Pollo, a chicken kebab with some pepper jam type sauce on, it was fantastic and my friends also enjoyed their foods as well. Visit Alma De Cuba afterwards and you will have a memorable trip to Liverpool.
We have booked again for our summer trip to Liverpool. We have even booked again when we come and see Boyzone at the new arena. I would strongly recommend Savina.

This quirky little restaurant in the centre of Akaroa is justly recommended in guidebooks. It has precisely two sittings of dinner a day - 6pm and 8.30pm, and woe betide you if you arrive early, you'll have to wait - the menu is written on a blackboard outside the door, and the walls covered in thanks from satisfied customers. There isn't much room, so book in advance (however rumours of having to book six months in advance are exaggerated). Food is French-influenced but with local produce - the smoked salmon is divine. Prices are equivalent to bigger city restaurants (mains in the $30-35 range) but it's well worth it!

This Friedrichshain bar has great atmosphere. Relax in the shabby chic surroundings (standard lamps, rugs, armchairs and wine-coloured walls) and enjoy whittling away the hours listening to the eclectic soundtrack, sipping beer for under two euros. Friendly staff and chilled out clientele. Look out for the wooden bowls of tea (bit odd and bitter).
