Hlucin is a town of around 15,000 people with an artificial lake, Sterkovna (Sterkac in local parlance), which has waterskiiing, windsurfing, swimming, mini-golf, and of course a few bars. You can go fishing on one side of the lake, too.
Hlucin itself also has numerous excellent bars, including the legendary "56", as well as some pretty decent restaurants and a couple of very good boarding houses. It's where lots of people chill out at weekends and it's a good place to relax with a few beers.
If you're lucky, catch the footy team at Hlucin stadium near the railway station. There’s a good pub at the station, and a great pub, "Gol", at stadium. Then continue the pub crawl down the road and carry on. Very friendly people, nice little cinema, good food and a nice place to sunbathe. Well played all round.
Take the 56, 34, 69, 70, 71 or 72 bus from Ostrava - should take only 15 to 20 mins. Get off opposite the "56" pub or hang on one more stop and get out at the bus station just near the main square.
Firstly for the breakfast - really good English breakfast and for those really indulgent days try their American breakfast. And if you've had a night of clubbing and can't face eating I really recommend their milkshakes - sets you right up for the day.
After the food, Una and Mitch, the owners are really friendly and always willing to provide all the information you need.

A fantastic restaurant with superb rooms. Well worthy of it's 4 star rating. The lamb I had tasted great and my wife's halibut looked even better. We got to see the rooms too, they're all themed and looked fab.

In the Market place of Cleethorpes
Krabi's night market is wonderful - tonnes of different foods to try and all fantastic and so cheap. The atmosphere is relaxed but exciting too, and there's a real community feel as most of the town turn up at some point during the evening. A must!
Bilbao is a bit of nightmare for vegetarians; usual staples such as potato and mushroom tapas are rarely served and there's only so many portions of tortilla you can stomach.
This place would be welcome even if the food weren't as good as it is. Its lunchtime menu is a bargain at 10.50 euros - and the food is fabulous, really filling fare making full use of the wonderful local produce and, unlike so many other vegetarian restaurants, it serves great desserts - no worthy dried fruit compote, you can go for the full-on chocolate blow out.

Close to central station begins the Lister Meile, a homely shopping street. This mile-long pedestrian zone leads from the city centre to the Wilhelminian style quarter List. In the shops you can find the usual kind of stuff: clothing, books, fruits and vegetables. And there is even a store selling British food and candies (if you are homesick for English crisps and chocolate). In the Lister Meile (and in the area around) you can find lovely cafés and restaurants, where you can sit in or outside.

Great little hidden treasure on the city fringe, and a short walk to Hyde Park, Museum and Oxford Street. It’s a traditional espresso bar that has a definite flavour of Italy mixed with the warm hospitality of Sydney. Located in the foyer of a small boutique hotel, it attracts an eclectic mix of corporates, travellers and locals. Real baristas serving cups of perfection - latte art and all. We had breakfast everyday there whilst visiting Sydney. Well worth checking out!

A roadside cafe with a great view across the local marina to the bay. The cafe is a pitstop for those on two wheels, cyclists and motorcyclists alike. The breakfasts are yummy, the coffee great and the view superb.

Taverna Alonia is a really friendly restaurant, with great food. Every year I meet so many people there who have returned to the island again, and seem to spend every night of their holiday in Alonia.

This family-run Italian restaurant has fantastic food is fantastic for reasonable prices. A two-course meal for two with a bottle of wine cost under £30. Suitable for children as the menu contains pizza and pasta dishes, and there’s a great selection for vegetarians.
It’s easy to get to by tube or bus, and a five minute walk from the Thames, which is ideal for an after-dinner stroll.
The venue is quite small and always busy so it can get quite loud, but there is seating outside which is perfect in the summer. The service is outstanding and staff are very friendly. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

A restaurant in the Old Village with good food, very friendly and a marvellous view over the Aegean.

German coffee is generally weak, tepid and bland, but this has the BEST coffee by a loooong shot (pun intended) in Leipzig. Coolest atmosphere, staff, music and in-crowd (who will kill me for telling you their secrets), top food and drinks and very reasonable prices. Warning - it opens at 6pm, but by 9pm it's standing room only. They will have a couple of big screens up during the World Cup for the fans.

This cafe, which is also a hotel, is a great, stylish place for breakfast, lunch, coffee, dinner, drinks etc in the very centre of town. Has a lovely terrace right above the river Pegnitz. Try to grab one of the few secluded outdoor tables in the back. On a summer day, there's no better place to be: just you, the river, a few ducks, a gentle breeze... what else would you want?

Located in Mainz, just outside Frankfurt, by the Rhine River, this restaurant is a must-visit. Originally, in the 13th century, it was a hospital and church for the poor and sick, and though it has since passed through many owners, it still retains a unique atmosphere. Now it has a restaurant, bar and beer garden serving breakfast, dinner, cocktails and even homemade pastries.

Well known by sports motorcycle riders for its location on the fabulous Reefton Spur run, the old timber pub has a good bar menu and an even nicer restaurant. The best spot however is sitting outside with a beer in ya hand.
