    Nathan Philips Square

Posted by GiuliaFalsetti 26 November 2011

Nathan Phillips Square, located at the forecourt to Toronto City Hall, hosts numerous events throughout the year, and starting November 26 until the middle of March, the famous outdoor skating rink will be open to the public.
Visitors can rent skates, get them sharpened, and have access to the indoor changing rooms.
This is the perfect way to end a winter day in the city. Skate rental includes 2 hours of skating. Adults = $10.00, and children = $5.00.
If you’re in town on November 26, be sure to attend the Cavalcade of Lights, beginning at 7pm in the Square. The event features the official lighting of the city’s Christmas tree, fireworks at 8pm, live musical performances by award-winning Canadian artists, and a skating party on the rink.

It is a beautiful Christmas market full of great gifts. It also has an outdoor ice rink and food stalls so you really feel like you have entered into the Christmas spirit right next to the beautiful Winchester Cathedral.

A Christmas themed market with stalls selling all sorts of Christmas goods. There is also a wide range of food and drink available, from all the countries of the globe. Also, the Dairy Milk hot chocolate stall is not to be missed. Complete the festive experience by going ice skating - it's cheap and the most festive fun i've had in ages.

    Ice at the Tower

Posted by MrsWay 7 December 2010

Outdoor ice skating rink at the Tower of London. The setting is fabulous and atmospheric with the Tower looming above. Go on Christmas Eve when the rink is flood lit for a particularly exhilarating experience.

Budapest away from the tourist trail

Posted by Ildi 24 November 2010

    1) Wait till the lake in the park Varosliget freezes over and becomes Europe’s largest ice-skating rink. It is located at the edge of the City Park, enclosed between Heroes’ Square and Vajdahunyad Castle.
    2) Hire a car and drive to Eger, for its history and wine making region and Debrecen for it's beautiful buildings and restaurants.
    3) Towns around the Balaton, such as Heviz, have natural thermal outdoor baths. Well worth a visit.

    Ice skating at Somerset House

    Posted by jets57 14 February 2006

From November to January, the courtyard of Somerset House, one of London's most beautiful buildings, is used as a giant ice rink.

Ideal for first dates - you'll probably have to grab on to each other at some point.
