Travel Box is a travel items store that carries everything a traveller needs; maps, travel guides, luggage, tech stuch, first aid kits, personal care items, plug adaptors etc.
English spoken (a plus for Salvador) and very friendly staff.
They also sell a bus pass for a city tour "Salvador Bus". You must check this store out!
You can get free maps, useful illustrated leaflets and small books at the GNTO offices in Athens at 26 Amalias Street. You can also download free maps of Greece from several interesting websites.
I have discovered a website with fantastic maps of Crete includes maps from all the regions of the island.
The Dutch equivalent of the AA or RAC, the ANWB has a shop behind the Rijksmuseum that is the place to come if you're considering a bike or road trip. All the maps you could ask for (in Dutch of course, but that's no big) and accessories from gel seats to emergency triangles. Members get a discount, and the ANWB is affiliated to the AA so it's worth a shot.

A great website by Krysve. Hotel information and booking for four good hotels (Salieri, Art Deco, Al Sole, Florida) as well as photos of Venice (including some taken in March this year - really a fantastic experience in Venice!). This site is well-maintained and a wonderful resource for anyone who is in love with or who wants to visit Venice. Certainly the creator of the website loves the city maybe more than anyone I else I met during my stay. Try it!
