It is a bar that a friend recommended to me. It's nothing fancy and you can either sit at the bar or in one of two rooms with tables. We ordered four tapas (carriada, espinacas con garbanzos, pisto con huevo, and champinon a la plancha) with five drinks and it only came to 15 euros. Great home-made Spanish food.

Beautiful, cozy vegetarian restaurant with a candlelit, cozy atmosphere. You can relax in the stunning interior, while listening to the score from Amelie (well, when I was there anyway). The food is delicious and you get traditional Polish food, vegetarian style! A real treasure!
Hitchcock's is a former brothel and situated in the historic old town of Hull.
When you visit Hitchcock's you are treated to something likened to a surrealist mystery tour.
The interior rambles it's way in a confusion of rooms situated on several levels creating natural havens and hideaways where couples or groups of friends can gather together to savour not only the delicious vegetarian and vegan cuisine that's on offer, but also the atmosphere created by a mixture of eclectic and eccentric styles mixed in with a quirky collection of thrift store curiosities.
The menu for the evening is chosen by the first person to book for that particular night. And they can choose menus based on the cuisine from a particular country. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the desserts, and as it's a buffet you can eat as much as you want!
It's certainly the best vegetarian restaurant I've ever been too by far!
Naam is an incredible vegetarian restaurant on Vancouver's 4th Avenue. It serves amazing vegetarian fare 24 hours a day, in vast quantities, and has won several awards for doing so. It's kind to both tastebuds and finances!
Vegetarian restaurant, run by the Hare Krishnas in Wellington. Staff are super friendly and food is absolutely delicious. Offers buffet style Indian food, where you can choose the size of your plate to suit your hunger levels. You never know what might be there from one day to the next, but some goodies include, delicious dhals, puris, rice, salads, tofu steaks, chickpea curries, halva etc. You can also have a takeaway, so can take your fab grub out to enjoy by the waterfront on a sunny day.

After days of picking out fish in my 'vegetarian' salads, and getting thoroughly bored of pasta with tomato sauce, it was a joy to find Il Margutta. The huge vegetarian buffet meant that I finally got to enjoy Italian food. And the beautiful, quiet location, tucked away near the bustle of the Spanish Steps, was magical. I half expected Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn to stop by.
Taking the vegetarian restaurant theme a step further this is a vegan restaurant that doesn’t cook any of its food with two locations in Toronto; the original in the up and coming Junction neighbourhood and a new location in the swanky ‘Yorkville’ area; home to the stars when they are visiting for the film festival. Skeptics (as I once was) approach the restaurant with a certain level of trepidation however turn into converts to this new way of eating. The menu is varied offering lighter lunchtime fare such as salads and wraps through to the more substantial entrees including Pad Thai, Pasta and Pizza all of which are filling and warming even on the coldest Toronto winter’s day in spite of them not being the images of steamy plates of food which such dishes conjure up. The real treat is the end of the meal – a selection of organic teas which are served with ‘traditional’ desserts such as ‘chocolate brownie’ or ‘cheesecake’. Quality food which appears to have been made with thought and care with absolutely no compromise on taste makes this a real hidden gem.
This family run, vegetarian Indian restaurant on the backstreets of Bradford has exceptional food - flavours I had never tasted before in my life. The staff are friendly and accommodating and have not let their recent stint on Gordon's Best Restaurant go to their heads. They also do take outs and a deli.
The Bonnington Cafe is a homely, community-run, vegetarian restaurant in South London. The ex-squat cafe is tucked in a delightful square behind the heavy traffic of South Lambeth Road. If you find it, you will be treated to more of an experience than just a meal. Each night there is a different chef who gets to run the restaurant so the food varies. Prices are very cheap (three courses for £13) and the food is made fresh on the premises every day. Often there'll be local musicians who play in the evening to entertain you too. Overall a little gem of a place that maintains the hippy spirit of its beginnings.

Interesting restaurant. Vegetarian only, and you pay what you feel your meal was worth. All food is organic and locally sourced, and despite the unusual - and potentially bankrupting - ethos, the food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere warm and friendly. Highly recommended!

This meat-free eatery in the heart of London is my current favourite for a face-scoffing session – and coming from a life vegetarian, that’s something.
What makes Tibits special is the fact it’s a buffet. This means the variety of dishes you can have on your plate is much wider than in your average restaurant. The food is incredibly fresh and colourful, making it hard not to overload. Curries, salads, stir fries, grains, pulses, seeds, steamed and fried vegetables, pasta, tofu and cheese are all present, but the abundance of choice doesn’t mean for a second that the quality is compromised. Since it’s all good, wholesome stuff, I usually decide that it’s OK to indulge myself a bit.
My plate piled high, I go to the till to have my dinner weighed and pick up my free bread roll. It usually comes to about £8. It’s the same procedure again with desserts – although my quirky dad likes to put his on the same plate as his main to save time (he doesn’t mind at all if his soya yoghurt runs into his lentil dahl).
The drinks are OK value considering you’re in the centre of town. I usually wash it all down with one of their posh herb teas.
Despite the buffet set-up, Tibits maintains the relaxed feel of a normal restaurant thanks to an attractive décor and unobtrusive lighting and music. It’s very spacious, and there are toys in the downstairs bit for the children.
The staff, mostly young and European, seem happy in their work and are helpful and smart.
Overall, Tibits is a relaxed and classy joint where you really will enjoy your food.
Gorgeous, good value and amazing range of vegetarian and vegan food. There is a nightly programme of live music ranging from jazz, folk to more contemporary styles. Henderson's of Edinburgh is also an arts venue housing Janet and Mac Gallery and there are regular exhibitions, openings and charity events. It is a cultural hub, home to many monthly community meetings including the Scottish animal welfare society.

Amid the ravenous carnivores and the natives who proudly boast that they have the highest consumption rate of beef in the world hides a hidden gem of vegtastic proportions. Among all the steakhouses and asados, tucked innocently down a leafy alleyway in the town of Bariloche is El Vegetariano, a haven for the humble vegetarian.
Serving freshly squeezed juices, a truely mouthwatering seasonal menu and divine puddings this place has caught the eye of even the most hardened meat eater. On our visit we dined on a seasonal lunch platter of five different delights, the courgette fritters were particularly scrumptious. Washed down with a mixed fruit juice and an indulgent tiramisu. The menu changes daily, but our lunch time habits did not.

This beautiful wooden nunnery, nestled up against lush green hills and looked down on by Hong Kong's ubiquitous tower blocks, was - apparently - constructed without using a single nail. It also serves up a mean plate of veggie noodles. Saunter round the immaculate gardens, keeping your eyes peeled for the waterfall. Find your way behind the cascades of water for a delicious meat-free set meal. Don't forget to seek out the gift shop before you leave, choc-full of nunnery produced goodies.

Aloka is a unique and totally raw food restaurant in the evenings 6pm-9.30pm. You have got to taste anything to do with chocolate it's so heavenly. This is the only raw food place in town - I wish there were more. Great for an alternative healthy way of living, if you're not a fan of the gym! During the day/lunch time down stairs its vegan raw and cooked food. I have never tasted such different sensations in all my life. The head chef Felix Schoener is amazing.
This is such a foodie have. Its aim is to provide healthy food using locally sourced seasonal and ideally organic produce. Any profits are reinvested into Tameside Mind [charity]. The menu is inventive e.g spiced chickpeas, spinach and roasted peppers topped with grilled halloumi, or a Mexican stew with corn bread. There is a selection of daily specials, veggie breakfasts, soups, deserts and breads from the Real Bread Co.
The prices are really low for the excellent quality of food £4.25 for a main meal, soups £2.25, puddings £2.25 .The team have worked in well- known vegetarian restaurants before but it seems a labour of love in producing the dishes served. You certainly would not miss meat.

It may sometimes be a struggle to find delicious, inventive vegetarian food in Eastern Europe, but the cool and extremely popular Lehka Hlava ("Clear Head") in Prague's Old Town is a great exception - lots of interesting dishes and healthy juices. The atmosphere is great but remember to reserve in advance or you'll struggle to get in for dinner.
