A skip away from the best Victorian pub in Liverpool - The Philharmonic - the Side Door is a foodie's paradise.
Laid back surroundings, great food, great prices - well recommended!
Hope St, Liverpool
We had lunch at Plush last Thursday, our first visit. Friendly and welcoming staff, lovely food - fresh, well presented and full of flavour across all three courses - with a good bottle of Sauv Blanc.
All with prompt but unobtrusive service.
Seated by a tropical fish tank, which was entertaining. All for £50 - great value and well recommended.

Should you visit Bursa for its architectural marvels, spa hotels, and the Turkish Mt Olympus, do not omit to visit either of these restaurants. Bursa or Iskender kebab is served throughout Turkey, and while döner kebab served atop pide with yoghurt, tomato sauce and browned butter should not insuperably challenge a chef anywhere, the dish is only good, in fact excellent, at these two restaurants in Bursa. They serve almost nothing else, and one orders by size—bir, bir buçuk, dublé—and one-and-a-half is plenty.
Kukla Kebab, a diplomat's favorite outside the Foreign Ministry in Ankara, does a credible version, but really, one should only eat it here.
They're in all the guidebooks. The dish was originated at Iskenderoğlu; Hacı Baba provides competitive edge.
This restaurant, open only for lunch, is one of the loveliest in Istanbul.
It is situated inside the northern wall of the Spice Bazaar, and is entered via a stone stairway just inside the gate.
Remarkably quiet, decorated with lovely Iznik tiles, Pandeli is famous for its vegetables, and though it is always said that the food is not as good as it was in its fabulous heyday, one can still find subtle evocations of Ottoman cuisine.
Sample the meze, try the hünkar beğendi. A wonderfully civilised place in which to pass part of an afternoon.
Spice bazaar, inside the gate facing the water.
Paulista Grill is heaven for those who like BBQ and hell for those with high cholesterol.
It is part of a Brazilian chain. They offer ample premises and private rooms and, of course, buffet style BBQ.
The buffet has different kinds of salads, rice, pasta and cuts of meats. Also includes dessert!
Less than £5 or USD$10 per person.

This is an excellent restaurant at the very eastern end of the main harbourfront street in Bodrum. Go past all the crappy "Irish" pubs. It's a little restaurant at the end, filled with locals and the best seafood I've ever had. Friendly service. We ate there both nights we were in Bodrum.

It's not on the menu, but if you ask for the steak special in the restaurant at the Ellis Island (one block off the strip behind Ballys) you get a choice of soup or salad followed by a 10oz steak cooked to perfection with a choice of fries, baked potato, mashed potato and gravy or rice for $4.95. It's far and away the best value meal in town!
Spanish tapas restaurant. Authentic home cooked tapas. Great atmosphere. Spanish staff.

Giovanni di Penco each weekday serves the most wonderful homemade pasta at the unbeatable price of about £5!!!
Freshly made bread to go with that, a perfect espresso, can you ask for more? If they have time they make panna cotta and tiramisu. Lunch only, no bookings. A bit hard to find, tucked away behind the big theatre. Follow the crowd!

The hip crowd, and everybody else loves it. Just refurbished, it's still excellent value and the food by wunderchef Bjorn Malmsten is Scandinavian with a twist.
Booking has become essential if you want to eat or simply have a beer in the bar.

The food is ok but the wines! A truly impressive and not very expensive collection of interesting Italian wines. They have two places, curiously enough separated by another cafe. Choose the right one where all the wines are! By the way, the brioche (croissant) and cappuccino are great.

"Wine bar, karaoke box, sake bar" the restaurant describes itself. I would say great Japanese and Korean food and nice selection of wines and drinks!
Not what you would expect from a sidestreet in Dublin, but a really pleasant surprise with its contemporary decor and nice staff.
I did not check out the karaoke though!

This is an excellent Italian restaurant on Dohany Utca near the main road Rakoczi Ut. The food is of good quality and the portions impressive. Try one of their pizzas, almost impossible to finish. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere good. It's also reasonably priced.

If you want a lazy lunch in beautiful surroundings then this is the place for you. Eat in the tented covered gardens whilst enjoying wonderful caipirinhas then if you like, buy the table and chairs you have been sitting at and on. Every piece of furniture and artwork at the restaurant is for sale. Inside there is a well stocked wine cellar. The staff are very friendly and know their food and drink.

Fantastic restaurant/bistro in the heart of the Jardims district with a well being centre upstairs. They serve modern Brazilian and International dishes that are really well put together. Both inside and outside spaces for eating. Start off with a very reasonable "Chandon" - the Brazilian champagne! Yum!

I recommend this restaurant if you fancy a Fawlty Towers experience. I went there with my family which included my two young nephews. The place itself is quite posh, however the mature waiter lost the plot.
We tried to order two Margherita pizzas with ham on. This sent the waiter into a rage with him srcatching frantically into his writing pad. He pronouced loudly he had a table of 20 booked which were coming any minute. We all felt intimidated by his behaviour.
After being told another pizza was off the menu we quickly left. Service with a smile it wasn't!

Wishbone (there are two- one is across the street from Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Studios) is a great restaurant that specialises in real American food - southern food. You won't find food like this easily in big American cities, so give it a try.
All the food is fresh and made from scratch. A Wishbone breakfast will take you well into late afternoon. Try the corn pancakes with sweet red pepper sauce, shrimp and grits, red eggs, or the crab cakes or vegan black bean cakes. For dinner, try the hoppin' John (also available as a side dish) or jambalaya. People come here for the side dishes alone - mashed sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, sauteed spinach, spectacular home fries, and cheese grits.
Both restaurants are bright and airy, with some unusual and delightful folk art on the walls. Friendly servers and a good attitude.
This is real down-home American food - fresh and delicious!
My favourite place in Pipa is the Coffee Shop run by Hudi and her husband Paul. Great for a chat and to find where to go for a good party that night. Cheap grub and the best caipirinhas in Brazil.
My favourite restaurant is Agua Na Boca, translation = mouthwatering. Perfect name. A beautiful restaurant with lots of beautiful dark wood furnishings; tables inlaid with spices and a mouthwatering menu. The crab starter is to die for! There is also a great creperie restaurant with architecture that looks like it was influenced by the Gaudi architecture of Barcelona.
Katz's Deli is a very cool restaurant, very good food and lots of fun to go with your friends.
