An east London based vintage shop, just off ultra fashionable Brick Lane, with a fondness for 80s fashion in particular. Expect George Michael earrings, Mickey Mouse caps, colourful shell suits and glam Joan Collins garb. You get the picture?
Items flying off the shelves have included ski goggles, Knight Rider annuals, electro-age musical instruments among other weird and wonderful things.
Recently spied browsing the rails have been Peaches Geldof, The Mighty Boosh and The Black Kids. No longer their little secret!

We went on this fantastic bike tour last summer around Christchurch on these funky blue retro-style bikes. We even had bells! It was a great way to see all the secrets of Christchurch and lots of fun, took about two hours and included a walk in some native forest as well. We had a fantastic guide, a real gem of a chap.
This is an amazing collection of seven genuine original airstream caravans for hire. We have just returned from a week there and it was fantastic. The site is excellent and the area great for touring.

A 70s-designed Tortilleria in Gracia straight out of a film set (think the milk bar in A Clockwork Orange and you are close).
All-white leather and black wall paintings with ridiculous variations on the humble tortilla. Fantastic place full of the pretty people.

Found this wonderful retro-style steakhouse on my first visit. Superb steaks are cooked by owner/chef Jimmy in his open style kitchen.
Smooth jazz plays in the background while you eat. Try the brandy steak and the chilli calamari.
The Buzbey is a Cape treasure. Reasonably priced, booking is advisable at weekends. Gay friendly.

There is a fantastic secondhand clothes shop on Rue de la Verriere.
The shop is packed full of stuff mainly from the 1970s/1980s but also earlier and priced between EUR5 and EUR30.
Well worth a rummage.

Looking for something serendipitous, a bohemian Baghdad Cafe experience? Nothing tops this cool, retro trailer park and campsite.
Situated in southwest France in the gorgeous and historic Ariege department, on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, little can prepare you for the gloriously time-warpy sight of several fully-equipped and lovingly maintained genuine Airstream trailers, each one with its own garden and totally kitted out with authentic vintage gear. From orange sun loungers to pink flamingoes, you have to see it to believe it.
Facilities include a farm shop that sells basic goods (including farm-fresh organic lamb for the barbie), shower/toilet block, hot tub and last, but not least, the groovy Apollo lounge - an Airstream converted into a proper bar house in a circus tent, serving meals and providing entertainment.
The surrounding area is packed with stuff to do. If you don't fancy just chilling out in front of your cool caravan, you can go hiking, biking, fishing, climbing, Cathar castle-spotting or sightseeing in nearby Carcassonne to mention only a few options.
Belrepayre truly is a fabulous way to discover an area of outstanding beauty and laid-back charm.
Must be seen!

Los Angeles is great for vintage/retro clothing, and these two stores, right across the road from each other in Venice Beach, are definitely worth a visit. Aaardvark has plenty of retro T-shirts, shirts and suits, while Gotta Have it has more dresses, vintage knitwear and accessories.

This is a great little cafe right at the top of North Laine. It's got classic tunes on the stereo - motown, soul and rock and roll - and the cash till was in Quadrophenia. In keeping with the retro theme everything is served on vintage crockery, think 50s Pyrex plates and coffee cups. They have a good range of sandwiches and cake as well as coffee and a lovely coke float. In the summer you can sit outside on the street, or on a patio at the back. It makes the walk up the hill totally worth it, and it's the perfect way to round off a shopping trip.
