    The Terrace

Posted by pmorgan 11 December 2007

Now, I am not normally a cocktail man. But on a weekend in Chicago with my then-fiancee, we discovered The Terrace at the Conrad. You snuggle up on a sofa five stories above the rest of the world but feel like you're a million miles away, so it's perfect either for romantic drinks or for a relaxed night with friends (and not as pretentious as a lot of other bars we tried in the city). The unique cocktail menu was a really big hit with my other half and even I was a fan of the 'TerraceTini'. Go in the summer and soak up the atmosphere, or go now and soak up the alcohol whilst the exchange rate is so good... the lovely lady I took is now my wife so it must have been a reasonable success!

    Zaza Bistro

    Posted by adam32 29 November 2007

This place's food is described as a contemporary combination of Asian, European, and Latin-American influences. It was my favorite restaurant while on my Brazilian vacation and I went there many times. I liked to sit outside.

I remember looking at the menu and thinking that the other daily specials on the other days sound good too. My favorite special was Samosa, tartar, white fish ceviche and tapioca, and salmon sashimi with passion fruit sauce, ginger and ciboulette served with a curry couscous. Their menu has Portuguese on one side and English on the other, which is great for tourists. The lovely, even sexy ambiance is also a highlight of the place.

    Rarotonga Beach Resort

Posted by getupandgo 12 October 2007

Rarotonga is absolutely beautiful, with amazing white sand beaches, and the Rarotongan Beach Resort is set right on the edge of Aroa beach. The resort offers free snorkel hire so you can explore the lagoon where you might find giant clams and blue starfish as well as thousands of colourful fish.

The beds are huge and comfy, cocktails are highly recommended (although beware - you can put all your food and drink costs on your room bill so be careful or it'll take you by surprise when you check out!) and you can dine on fresh coconut and starfruit for breakfast.

    Wizards Thatch

Posted by Happywandering 12 October 2007

Wizards Thatch luxury suite in Alderley Edge is perfect for a romantic break. The bedroom is breathtaking with its magnificent four-poster bed draped in gold tapestries and the bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in. We will never forget sipping our champagne by the pond illuminated by the flickering lights of the candleabra. Magical. Can't wait to return.
