The male camels are decked out in colourful livery with tassels with names shown such as the heroic Thunderbolt, Destiny, Falcon and the more dubious Jackal. The prospective protagonists are introduced to the female to liberate their natural tendency to do battle. Fights last from a few minutes to 15 minutes.
The combatants initially strain against each other, neck to neck. Very occasionally one camel flees. A victory occurs when one camel forces the other to the ground. A well-dressed referee oversees the contests in the ring and officials occupy the one small stand while an announcer describes the detailed action. Can combine with a visit to Ephesus.

In the west of Ireland, a new Irish company whose directors have many years experience in running activity and adventure centres, has launched its series of residential summer camps in Counties Mayo, Westmeath and Cork that will finally give Irish children and teenagers a taste the sorts of camps that their English and American counterparts have enjoyed for over 20 years. Horizon Summer Camps have rolled out a range of residential summer camps for children aged eight to seventeen years of age at Westport and also at their Wilson's Centre in Multyfarnham in Westmeath near Dublin.
For parents, the attraction is that Horizon look after their children 24/7 from once they are picked up at the special pick-up points around the country - parents don't have to worry at all.
Horizon camps include multi-activity holidays where children can throw themselves into a wide range of activities such as kayaking, climbing, dragon-boating, horse-riding, quad-biking, and many other activities.
Or, if they wish, they can concentrate on a specialist camp such as the multi-media programme, or horse-riding for the week. Many teenagers opt for the "surf camp", for example, because the coastline adjacent to Westport offers some of the best surfing in Europe.

Many activities in Iceland can only be done via coach trip from Reykjavik; if you go to the places where they occur you won't always be able to do them; the only exceptions are the popular places and/or popular things like horse riding.
Go to Tourist Information; there are several official/unofficial ones in "downtown" Reykjavik.
Hoca Tour is an amazing trails company. I am a backpacker and most of my trips are planned in search of adventure. When I was last in Rio I stayed at a hostel located in Copacabana, which is a neighbourhood close by the beach.
I asked the people who worked there if they knew of any activities that could be done by daytime, so they showed me a guide named Rio For Partiers. This was an easy to understand guide with lots of information on what to do in the city and the surrounding places. Me and my boyfriend did many of the ones listed, but the one we enjoyed the most was the Hoca Tour service, which takes you through dirt roads, open roads, sand dunes, rivers, waterfalls, oceans and many beautiful sights.
The driver, Horacio, is very friendly too, and he has a lot of information on that area. We both had a really good time and we hope to come back again.

A friendly place to stay on the edge of Odda. Facilities and atmosphere are reminiscent of a superior youth hostel, and all the more welcoming for it. All rooms are ensuite and breakfast and evening meals are served. There is also a bar and occasional live music events.

I think that the best way of enjoying the province of Pontevedra is through nature. The sea is one of its best characteristics due to its varied and rich seabed.

Imagine an authentic, reasonably priced, local French restaurant bang in the middle of the 1er, within a Wilkinson drop-kick of that concrete beast, the Forum des Halles.
Imagine such a place festooned in rugby memorabilia - permanently, and not just in Rugby World Cup year. Such a place exists. It's called Le Gros Minet (The Fat Kitten) and it's on Rue des Prouvaires (+33 1 42 33 02 62).
It's small, so book to avoid missing out on such treats as canard aux myrtilles. As any rugby fan would tell you, it's got to be worth a try!
Tennis lovers will want to visit Roland Garros – the museum is wonderful and you can often get close to French stars as they train. But Paris has a tennis secret, the Standard Athletic Club.
This sport and social club was set up by a group of young British businessmen in the nineteenth century; afternoon tea is still served under a picture of the Queen.
Along with swimming pool, squash and gym, the club has eight tennis courts (five clay) and a cricket pitch. Membership is easy to obtain and reasonable, but the club is also generous to guests. Members may invite you to play, and most weekends guests are welcome, by appointment, to try the facilities.
