    Toro Grill

Steakhouse in the Yumbo centre. The food is very good, reasonably priced and properly cooked, far better than some of the awful food in surrounding restaurants.

    Taylor’s Steakhouse

Posted by Sissi 16 September 2008

Lovely restaurant with red-leather booths and old-fashioned American charm in downtown LA.
The steaks are as awesome as the atmosphere, coming in at a reasonable $25 with sides in the evening but even cheaper at lunch with the specials.

Try the cocktails too if you have any cash left in the budget!

    Flanagan's Prime Steakhouse

Located on the shores of a lake in Killaloe just outside the city. Fab place - beautiful decor with picture windows. Great steaks, a huge menu and wine list and the kids loved the pizza from a real fire oven.

Best steakhouse I've eaten at (and there's been a few). Good service and amazing Porterhouse steaks. Try and leave some room for the cheesecake desert.

    Ribs & Rumps Restaurant

Posted by jenjens 9 January 2008

This is a restaurant in Manly, a ferry ride away from Sydney's Circular Quay. Despite its name, and the fact that I am a vegetarian, I can definitely recommend it for meat eaters and non-meat eaters alike.

My husband - a meat eater - tells everyone he meets about the steak that he had there, whilst I - a non meat eater - can say that the meal I had there was the most generous and varied vegetarian meal I have ever tasted.

It consisted of every type of vegetable imaginable, fresh and beautifully cooked. Add to this, the fantastic view overlooking Manly Beach and the ocean and the buzzing atmosphere; yes, I would definitely cross the world to eat there again!

The best steaks I ever ate. For over 36 years El Gaucho has served its guests with genuine, Argentinian angus steaks, prepared on a central, open charcoal fire. Watch and enjoy the taste of these Argentinian specialties - just like gauchos in the pampas. El Gaucho not only stands for quality dining, but is also a part of authentic Argentinian culture in Germany.

The El Gaucho is the first and oldest Argentinian restaurant in Germany.

    Locos de Asar restaurant

    Posted by Conco1 7 December 2007

We found this Parilla restaurant around the corner from the 4 Points by Sheraton hotel in the city centre. The service was excellent - the manager/owner speaks good English and the food was superb.

Complimentary shots at the end just added to the experience!

    Steakhouse at the CircusCircus Hotel

    Posted by trev1 17 December 2006

Look beyond the casino area of the hotel and head for the SteakHouse. Its how an old school steakhouse should be: all dark wood pannelling and glass meat lockers. Excellent value for money. Try the porterhouse. Cooked just the way you want it.

    L'Entrecote

Posted by Accaber 18 October 2006

This restaurant is situated near the Grand Théatre, off the place de la Comédie. It is popular, often with queues of customers waiting outside the door at busy times. They will eventually be shown to a table on one of four floors of the restaurant. There is only one main course available - steak with fries, salad and the famous l'entrecote sauce at sixteen euros. And diners only choice of wine is between red and rosé - something of a relief if you're a little tired of being pretentious about wine.
This isn't French dining for the purists - there are plenty of wonderful restaurants in Bordeaux to try, and if you're only going out for one meal in Bordeaux please go to La Tupina. It is, admittedly, part of a very small chain of restaurants throughout France. However, it is affordable, fun, very popular and the steak is yummy.

    Gibson's Steakhouse

    Posted by graham77 11 October 2006

This is a buzzing, upmarket steakhouse on Rush Street. You have to book, especially at weekends, the steaks are awesome (go for the Chicago Cut at around $37). There is also a piano bar next to the restaurant.

    Alfred's Steak House

Posted by Lucinda 23 January 2006

I stayed four nights in San Francisco in September and ate at a lot of great places. However Alfred’s stands out for a number of reasons. My guidebook recommended it as the best steak house in San Francisco. However not only is it great steak, it’s a very lovely old-fashioned romantic restaurant. It’s full of red velvet banquettes, large tables with white linen and white aproned waiters.

I had the 14oz (that’s the smallest they did) sirloin with mash and my boyfriend had the Porterhouse 20oz, which is a speciality - he could only manage half as it literally took up the whole plate. The bar is also lovely to have your coffee or for a pre-dinner drink - they specialise in single malts.

659 Merchant Street, it's located between the financial district and Chinatown on Market and Kearny and is not really near any other restaurants so you'll have to look hard. My taxi driver didn't know it so make sure you take a map; tel: 415 781 7058; www.alfredssteakhouse.com/
