The Sirocco restaurant is one of the highest open air restaurants in the world, on the 63rd floor, 200m high.
It's a great setting which you have to experience. If the meal is outside your budget you can have a drink in the Sky bar. We paid £120 for three courses with a glass of wine.

Dress code is smart casual. Long trousers for men with no sandals allowed.

A bar/restaurant which we frequented more than once during our holiday in Bangkok.
Live music, cocktails and food in an outdoor setting.

Only a 3 or 4 minute walk along Soi 11 on the left hand side if you come from Nana BTS (Skytrain) station on Sukhumvit.

Le Fenix Hotel Sukumvit

Posted by khunwilko 29 June 2009

Pleasant trendy hotel with great retro 60s styling. Conveniently placed, walking distance of BTS (Nana). Rooms are a bit small, but wet season rate is about 2600 p/n.

Two hours free wi-fi - 50 baht p/h after that. Good staff. Roof-top bar with prices even higher! Car parking too. Roar with laughter when you see the size of their pool!

So Thai Spa

Posted by bangkokexpat 22 September 2012

So Thai Spa is the best day spa in Bangkok and Bangkok is a city full of spas. It is very luxurious and the therapists are all talented and professional. What makes So Thai Spa stand out is the prices, which are very reasonable compared to the competition.

The perfect place for your first taste of Bangkok's famous street food. Some of the best and cheapest smoothies, phad thai and mango and sticky rice I have had in Bangkok.

The place was extremely accommodating with a parking lot and all. The crew at the Merlin Beach Resort offered exceptional aid to our needs. The resort presented a wonderful stay. The restroom was trendy. We feel gratified to know we got what we paid for

Elliebum Café and Guesthouse

Posted by lawmacparis 20 September 2010

Gade, who runs the place, is so welcoming. The rooms are large and right in the heart of the old city, on Rachamakka Road. You really feel as if you become part of Gade's family. Service a bit slow for the cafe, but if you're not in a hurry, it's worth stopping to try her homemade smoothies, and don't forget to ask why she calls her place "Elliebum".

Bottle Beach in Koh Phangan

Posted by bbctestcard 15 August 2010

It’s got to be Bottle Beach on Koh Phangan in Thailand. It's got all the qualities – isolated (access to the beach is only possible by boat), superb beaches, good food, jungle to explore, very hospitable hosts, great swimming and snorkelling opportunities. Enough said.

Rasananda

Posted by MisterLister 17 May 2010

With a prime location on one of the best beaches in Koh Phangan, the Rasananda is pure class. The rooms all have private gardens with outside showers, the food is amazing and there's a nice spa. Intimate enough for a honeymoon, but it's not cut off from the rest of the island. You can wander next door or up the road to find cool bars and cheap eats. Getting there is a bit of a nightmare if you have to take the minibus across the island's interior, but the hotel has its own speedboat which can do transfers from Samui. Classy way to arrive!

Located in the tallest building in Thailand, this hotel has three top notch buffet meals to enjoy. I recommend the international buffet, and going there for dinner to enjoy the best views of Bangkok at night. It costs about 15 euros and is very much worth it. We go there every time we visit Bangkok.

It is located in the top floors of the Baiyoke Hotel in Bangkok.

The Dome

Posted by juggyd 22 February 2009

I have never in my life had such a great view eating dinner like I had at this restaurant, located on the 65th floor of the State tower on Silom Rd. Just the view is worth the trip to this restaurant. The service was poor for such a high end place, not rude, but just not attentive given the fame that this restaurant has gathered in the world since it's opening. The food has everything you could think of, fresh seafood, great steaks, and a dessert table to die for.

A live band with a soul singer was a pleasant touch as we ate and afterwards she came down and introduced herself and spoke to us for a couple of minutes. Afterwards stick around and have drinks at the ultra cool bar, drinks run from 200 bahts (about $5 US dollars) to 20,000 bahts about $500 US dollars for Cristal Champagne. If it wasn't for the poor table serivce this place would get a 10 out of 10 but I'll give it nine out of 10.

Tuskers

Posted by Amyontheroad 4 June 2007

Tuskers is a great pub and restaurant in Chiang Mai. I was recommended it by the Elephant Nature Park as they give a 10% donation to elephant conservation.

It is a huge place with a great open bar, big garden, pool room and a separate sports bar so something for everyone. I had a relaxing meal listening to music in the garden while a big crowd was watching rugby upstairs.

The food was excellent, they have a western and Thai menu and serve cocktails. The staff were very friendly and gave advice on where to go in Chiang Mai.

Really recommend highly!

Sky Bar

Posted by harpesf0rd 26 February 2013

On the 63rd floor of the Lebua Hotel in Bangkok, Sky Bar offers up breathtaking views over the city. There is no entrance fee so you can get away with just going to appreciate the scenery, while some may recognise it from the opening scenes of Hangover 2.
Drinks are around 500 baht, and after the heat and hustle below, sipping a cocktail among the skyscrapers is a great way to end the day.
Head there early evening to catch the sun setting over the Chao Praya River.

Emotion of Sushi

Posted by cjack 28 November 2012

I discovered this gem during the traditional right of passage for the young British traveller, passing through the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand for the Full Moon Party.
Amid the madness of buckets, sandy beach front bars, raving, jungle parties and general bustle geared towards young western travelers, lies an absolute diamond. Lying just to the side of Haad Rin beach where the famous party is held, a serene, beautifully lit cocktail bar called Emotion of Sushi can be found. Upstairs is a small sushi restaurant should your stomach long for some exquisite Japanese food. The cocktails are expertly mixed and have a wide offering from caipirinhas to garden martinis. A tranquil and beautiful little bar, should you wish for some comfort and an escape from the madness.
Not over-priced, the bar is run by a well travelled hippy who never left the island. As such, it has a welcoming atmosphere and a relaxed vibe.
