    Visitor attractions in Pattaya

Posted by khunwilko 28 March 2007

On the mainland, Pattaya offers a range of amusement parks, gardens, and theme parks. Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens although recently scandalised by the Beeb for their treatment of elephants is worth a visit, just don’t support the elephant rides. Elephant village is similarly not to be supported.

Pattaya Park is a Water World amusement park that offers all the usual water rides plus a revolving restaurant and some hair-raising ways of getting up there and back down.

Mini Siam is a miniature tour of Thailand - full of busloads of tourists with a MacDonald’s at the entrance.

Million year-old Stone Park has beautiful gardens - feed the 5ft long catfish! And cringe at the abysmal treatment of tigers and crocodiles.

Further afield is Sri Racha tiger Zoo (to be avoided at all costs), and Kao Keow Open Zoo, a refreshing change from the usual callous way animals are treated in Thailand. There is also the Water World Aquarium on Sukumvit Rd. Any hotel or travel shop will arrange to take you there.

    Duinrell Theme Park

Posted by Niall Scruton 14 February 2007

I love to go to Duinrell in Holland. I go by Ferry. Duinrell is a theme park and there's lots of scary, lovely, fun and wet rides to go on. If you stay at the park you can go on the rides as many times as you like every day. I love to go to
the Tiki Pool there. It's a very big pool with lots of slides. My
favourites are Moonlight and Starfright which are both fast, dark slides with lots of lights inside them. You have to ride in a boat
shaped like a number eight. There is also a Lazy River which goes
very slowly. You have to ride in a special ring.

    From Niall Scruton (age 7)

Duinrell is located in Wassenaar, South Holland a short drive from the Hook of Holland ferry terminal. There are daily crossings from Harwich to the Hook of Holland by Stena Line.)

    Silver Mountain for non-skiiers

Posted by Anudem 13 December 2006

Silver Mountain is also becoming a great area for those who don't like the mountain activities. This year Silver opened up a sledding/tubing hill for those not willing to strap on skis or a board. Silver also is opening a all year indoor waterpark in the very near future.

    Leoland Water Park

Posted by potterix 2 December 2005

If you have children (or even if you don't) and you need a relaxing day away from the noise and chaos, Leoland Water Park is a huge water park with numerous pools, flumes, jacuzzis and a 'lazy river' on the roof of a posh shopping centre with amazing views of Bangkok.Entry is 250 baht for adults and 150 baht for children.

Take the skytrain east to the end of the line (On nut) and then a No 38 bus to Bang Na. The shopping centre is called Central City.
