Marlins are so far the only agency on Morro who are undertaking trips out to see the humpback whales that pass by the coast from July onwards.
They are working with marine biologists who are observing the whales and charting their course past the island. The trip is new so they do need to improve slightly, but they welcome feedback and they are trying to do it properly by using the rules about watching whales - how close you can get and for how long you can stay with one animal etc.

There is a fantastic bay, the beach is about 2kms long. Mainly in August and September - but sometimes as early as June and July - southern Right Whales (Balaia Franca) visit the bay with their babies.
We were lucky enough to see two adults and a baby in the bay over the course of two days. They are easy to spot from the beach as they are so close, so no need for a rough ride out to sea to watch them frolickling around.
Santa Caterina, about 2 hours south of Florionapolis by bus.
A newly established British-run ground operator in tourism.
We went on their glass bottom boat out to the Islands off Muscat for snorkelling.
It was awesome. The sea was so clear, there were dolphins everywhere and whales too.
The staff were really friendly and professional, and we even got snacks as we sailed!!!!
Perfect day on the Arabian Ocean.
