A website with loads of information on Scotland with accommodation, maps, castles and whisky distilleries.
A beautiful village in Sleat, the garden of Skye, boasting an art gallery, a lively pub, a whisky shop, and a lighthouse that seems to have been painted on by Monet.
We took a boat to Eigg and got followed by a whale that stuck its head out of the water to see us better. The next day we caught 12 mackerel while boating in the sound and had them with mussels bought from a local fisherman. Just ask in the pub.
Also: you must go roamin’ in the gloamin’ on the Old Man of Storr, further north.
About a mile down the road from Glencoe is a small, very old pub called the Clachaig Inn - its Boots Bar has a huge range (at least 100 different) of single malt whiskies.

The Oban distillery is definitely worth a visit, as is the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull.

Upstairs or downstairs, both are a charm. Downstairs holds the exceptional restaurant and upstairs belongs to the more laid-back bar.
Fabulous selection of wine and whiskies and much better than the rest of the G1 guff that populates much of Glasgow's bar scene.

Nearest Underground station: Hillhead, and then literally around the corner to the West End's famous Ashton Lane - all fairy lights and cobbled street!
This is a traditional bar on the south side of the city with a cosy atmosphere, excellent beer, a huge choice of whisky and champagne, delicious food (mostly smorregebrod) and a courtyard for secluded al-fresco libations in the good weather.
