Petacciato is a town of 3,648 inhabitants in the province of Campobasso. Center of the Adriatic coast. It stands on a hill 225m above sea level. From its dominant position it offers a vast and beautiful landscape that stretches from the mountains of the Majella and the Gargano, through to the archipelago of the Tremiti Islands.
Petacciato is very old. It was already inhabited by other populations before the Romans settled there.
The most popular traditional festivities of Petacciato are San Antonio, on 18th May and San Nicola on the 4th July.

Isernia, is situated in Molise on a rocky crest rising from 350m to 475m between the Carpino and the Sordo rivers. The plan of Isernia still reflects the ancient layout of the Roman town, with a central wide street, the cardo maximus, still represented by Corso Marcelli, with side streets at right angles on both sides. The areas of Isernia includes 16 towns. The most densely populated is CastelRomano which is positioned in a valley at the base of the La Romana mountains, 5 km from Isernia. Although having been object of repeated destructions, Isernia preserves a large number of monuments of fairly good archeological interest.
The Fraterna Fountain
The town’s main symbol was built in the 13th century. it is a refined public fountain with six water jets and was restored in 1835.
La Pineta
Isernia is also known for the archeological excavation located within its borders. La Pineta was discovered in 1979 by an amateur naturalist.
Castelromano
It is the largest and most popular rural village.
Close to Isernia is Castelromano. The origin of the place is very old. It is very beautiful and it was Commissioned by the Romans in 1844.

Isernia is famous for its cuisine; Molise is particularly rich with white Truffle and onions.

The main attraction of Campobasso is the Castello Monforte, built in 1450 by the local Count, Nicola II Monforte, over Lombard or Norman ruins.
The church of San Bartolomeo is one of the many interesting churches in Campobasso. It is an 11th century Romanesque building, in limestone.

The Festival of Mysteries is one of the most significant regional events, centering around the passion, death and resurrection of Christ.
Another manifestation of religious feeling is The Procession.

Cuisine:
Simple cooking, which despite the changes and the progressive enrichment, has preserved an irreplaceable authenticity. Expect dishes such as
pork tripe with chili, garlic, fennel seeds and salt or scapece of anchovies - a typical recipe with anchovies in vinegar.
Other favourites include corn pizza, with garden vegetables and “Fiadone” , a rustic pie made of cheese and eggs.
Among the delicious traditional liqueurs are the “Nocino”.

Castel san Vincenzo is an Italian municipality of 566 inhabitants of the province of Isernia in Molise. In its territory you find the famous abbey of Saint Vincenzo to the Volturno. The village is situated to the western stratums of the Walloon mount. The earth of Saint Castel Vincenzo is rich of lives, olive trees, walnuts and gelsi.
The original abbey of San Vincenzo was destroyed in 881AD and rebuilt. This is the abbey we can still see today. The two areas of Castellone al Volturno and Castel San Vincenzo al Volturno were combined in 1928 and in 1990 became an important part of the National Park of Abruzzo and Molise.
The local food is delicious. Expect dishes like Zucchine secche with dried plums (dried courgettes, a Christmas dish), Dardaglione (polenta with vegetables), Torcinelli Christmas (pancakes), Farrozzi (risotto made with pig's blood and thymus) and jiciuotti (dried corn and baked in a clay pot).
San Vincenzo is located near the airport either in Rome or Pescara.
You can easily get there by car, coach and train.
