Heavily Scottish-themed pub set upon Scarborough's genteel South Cliff. Over 1,000,000 (I'm estimating) different types of Scotch on display - though not necessarily available by the glass - and heavy use of tartan throughout. Lovely in summer when you can sit on the terrace, and cosy in winter around the fireside.
The Esplanade, South Cliff, Scarborough.
Scuzzy little bar in the East Village that serves (relatively) cheap booze and feels rewardingly 'New York' for those who equate the Big Apple more with the Velvets and the Ramones than Sex In The City. Apparently WH Auden used to live next door. Awful toilets.
75 St. Marks Pl. (East Village) between First and Second Aves
