It is a massive park in northern Ontario - it is absolutely beautiful. My wife and I stayed in a cabin there in 2002 and loved it. Loads of lakes, ecological reserves, birds, fantastic Parks Canada visitor centres.

You go up from Toronto, past Barrie, and just keep going.

A hamlet at the bottom of Skiddaw, near Keswick. Just a very nice place to walk, and there are rental cottages there. You can start the climb up Skiddaw there or just walk a little way up the fells. Also great views of two lakes

Nelson is a small but vibrant town and is the gateway to BC's Kootenays region of lakes and snow-crested mountains. Great to visit in the summer, for canoeing, long ferry rides around the massive lakes, also skiing in winter. Great music festivals also - lots of artists, great food

It is a district of lakes and mountains in the southern interior of Canada's British Columbia province. There aren't many towns, and those there are, are small and interesting. Expect lots of arts, eg jazz festivals, folk music, awesome ferry rides across massive lakes, very friendly local people. Must sees are Nelson, a rather bohemian town, Kaslo, and the 'ghost towns' near Kaslo. These old towns died after the end of the gold mining industry but there are few people still living there. Best to go in the summer as winters can be harsh unless you like skiing.
