Croatian design team Gharani Strok designed the interiors for the recently opened five-star Hotel Bellevue.

The hotel itself is like something from an old James Bond film with its lift to the private beach below built into the rock face.

The cocktails served in Vapor's bar are something quite special. The terrace is split in two with Vapor on one side and the other side being home to one of the best restaurants in Dubrovnik. The terrace has a wonderful view out over the Adriatic where you can sip your cocktail while watching a whole variety of craft from tall Pirates of The Caribbean ships to little island-hopping taxis moving in and out of Dubrovnik harbour framed by a glorious sunset.

The Adriatic's most friendly barman made us the perfect Vodka Martinis and told us tales of having to fight in the Balkan war and then finding work on a cruise ship where he learned the art of perfect mixing. My boyfriend and I spent a magical evening sipping amazing cocktails and watching the moonlight dance over the Adriatic. Bliss!

Sprawled across Calles Jimenez and Linares is the best and bizarrest market that I have ever been to. You won't find plastic witches' fingernails, toy broomsticks, plastic pumpkins or daft monster masks here... this is proper Witchyness! The hundreds and hundreds of stalls sell all manner of potions and lucky 'charms'. The biggest seller, found swinging from the frames of most market stalls (mind your head) is dried llama foetus. Considered to be good luck if you are moving house... the idea being that you bury it in the garden or the foundations of the house (can't see it catching on with Barratts) and it will bring you prosperity.

Sadly llamas are not the only animals considered to have healing properties or be considered lucky - dried turtles, monkeys and even beaks of certain tropical birds are displayed to entice.

It's an eye-opening experience and I'd argue that to miss it is to miss an important part of Bolivian culture. I wouldn't recommend it to the faint hearted or for youngsters who might be expecting their own Latin America Diagon Alley... this place is definitely more Lord Voldemort than it is Professor Dumbledore.

I grew up in Warwick and the three best things about it were (indeed I think still are) the pizzas at Piccolinos, the Castle and the best local park ever, St Nicholas's.

Avon Guest House is a lovely bed and breakfast 5 minutes' walk away from all three, making it perfect for families. Run by a lovely couple who are really welcoming and knowledgable about all the local attractions and the sights to be found a short bus/train/car ride away (Stratford-Upon-Avon, The Cotswolds).

It's chintz-free and more like a hotel than a standard B&B. I had one of the best nights' sleep on a super comfy bed and woke up to the smell of bacon frying downstairs - heaven. They also do the most perfect scrambled eggs (apart from my boyfriend's!)

Bude is a beautiful part of Cornwall and the Falcon Hotel is one of the friendliest places to stay. It's right next to the canal (which offers great opportunites for those interested in fishing) and has great views. The rates are really reasonable so it's good for families. Enjoy a cold beer from the lively bar and let the kids explore the beautiful walled gardens.

The Inn On The Lake has the most spectacular views of Lake Ullswater and never fails to induce a sharp intake of breath on arrival. This place is all about the location and it really is worth spending a few extra pounds for a lake view room.

Whilst you can ask for finest wines known to humanity in Penrith, you may be disappointed to find that Withnail and I's infamous afternoon tea wasn't actually filmed there.

You can however go to a little village about 10 miles away called Shap, where a cute shop on the main street will sell you amazing sandwiches and glorious home made cakes. Die hard fans may want to head to Wet Sleddale to see the derelict building (Sleddale Hall) which was Uncle Monty's holiday home but there are much nicer picnics spots. Get a map, a good pair of walking boots (Withnail's carrier-bag-over-shoe skills won't do) and explore.

Breathtaking views, superb food, perfect stopping point for driving the Great Ocean Road. Sleep in your own woodlodge with floor to ceiling windows listening to the sea and watching stars.
