There are three outstanding brands. Un Altra Volta is an ice cream parlour and cafe. There is an enormous number of varieties, eg. 10 kinds of chocolate ice cream with different flavours, like dulce de leche, nuts, banana, raisins and so on. There are also low-calorie ice creams.

The other excellent brands are Persico and Munchis, which have shops scattered around town.

Un Altra Volta: in Avenida del Libertador, Palermo, not far from the Zoo. And there is a branch in the Belgrano District in Echeverria and Cuba.
Persico: in Scalabrini Ortiz and Las Heras in the Palermo area.
Munchis: in Florida and Plaza San Martin in downtown Buenos Aires.

It is a very lovely train ride along the River Plate (Río de la Plata). In San Isidro Station there is a nice shopping centre with cafes etc.

From Retiro Station, take the train that ends in Bartolome Mitre, then cross the bridge and take the Tren de la Costa to Tigre.
