    Krizna Jama caves

Posted by PeteST 1 June 2010

Krizna Jama is an amazing underground network of caves and lakes in Slovenia. The best parts you have to reach by boat, taken by a guide. Crystal Mountain (Kristalna Gora) with its stunning display of stalagmites and stalactites is the most impressive. We were there on a photography holiday and had the opportunity to try 'painting with light' to get some great cave photos.

If you're staying in Prague for more than five days, a little known fact is that a whole month's public transport pass can be bought for 550czk, just 50czk (about £1.50) more than a five day tourist ticket.
You can buy the monthly tickets at Mustek and Dejvicka metro stations.

    Termix club

Posted by PeteST 27 May 2010

If you're wanting to check out Prague's gay scene, then this fun and funky dance club in the Vinohrady district is where to start. The first thing you see on entering the long underground bar is a full size Communist Skoda car hanging from the wall. Underneath it is a dancefloor pulsating to the sounds of club hits and Czech songs mashed up. Imagine Madonnas 'Like a Virgin' sung in Czech language, and you get the picture. Wednesday nights are the best, as many locals are in then. Well worth checking out.

    Residence Tabor

Posted by PeteST 27 May 2010

A bargain of a three-star hotel in the bohemian Zizkov area of Prague, just three tram stops from the centre and walking distance from many bars and clubs. Great breakfast and always a personal welcome from the extremely friendly manager. I now always stay here when I visit Prague. The most I've paid is 30 euros a night, and for a better standard than many other budget hotels at twice the price.
