It is horrible to try to go to the centre of Prague with your car. If you do not have to, do not do it. If you have to, be careful when parking especially where parking zones are.
On www.abcprague.com I have found helpful guideline how to avoid problems with parking in the centre of Prague.
Prague has parking zones now and there are 3 types of zones:
* Blue zones - just for residents and local companies
* Orange zones - short time parking (up to 2 hours) for 40 CZK per hour (8 AM to 6 PM) and
* Green zones - parking up to 6 hours for 30 CZK per hour (8 AM to 6 PM).

Langweil model, one of the most popular items in the collection of the Museum of the City of Prague (Na Porici 52), will be displayed again from 11th April 2007.
The model was made between 1826 and 1837 from cardboard and wood.
The model is, in many cases, the only witness of how some parts of central Prague looked almost 200 years ago.

1) Instead of taking a taxi on the street, use the marked taxi stations.
2) Write down the registration number and the number on the door of the taxi.
3) Check the price written on the taxi doors. The maximum rate in Prague in 28 CZK/km.
4) Check whether the taximeter is working. Check the receipt for whether the driver charged you the standard tariff.
5) Make sure that the receipt contains personal details of the driver. If the driver refuses to give you the receipt, make sure you know the registration number and the number on the door.
