Absolutely beautiful old town. Full of charming restaurants, picturesque churches and quaint cobblestone roads.
Sort of like a tiny Prague, but less crowded and less expensive.

If you travel to Minsk with a child, or if there is still a child in you, go to the circus! The circus in Minsk operates almost year round, it is a lot of fun and great entertainment even if you do not understand Russian. You can see highlights of a recent circus performance on video at the website below:

There is so much to recommend about Lugano: the weather, the relaxed atmosphere, the view of the lake. When visiting this beautiful city, be sure to stay at Hotel Dante. One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Switzerland.
They have some good special offers on their site.

The Rheinfalls is the largest waterfall in Europe. Located about 1/2 hour by car and under 1 hour by train from Zurich, they are a great day trip when you are visiting this pretty city. What is particularly interesting is how close you can get to the falls. There is a platform extending out over the water so that you can feel the power of the water as it rushes beneath you. If you still have not had enough, you can take a boat excursion right to the foot of the falls and even disembark and climb stairs to the top of a huge rock that is sitting squarely in the middle of the falls. For the less adventurous, there is a nice cafe that is well positioned so that you can enjoy watching the others while you stay warm inside.

They are called tapas in Spain, meze in Cyprus, and appetizers almost everywhere else. But in Greece, they are Orektika or Mezedas. These are the bite size yummies that are served hot or cold, and are supposed to be your starter but can actually be your entire meal. The appetizers in Greece are very special and can be found nowhere else. If you are on a budget, this is the best food to order, because they are tasty, inexpensive, nutritious and filling.
In Greek Tavernas, Ouzarias, and Mezedopolios. See here for more on Greek food: www.travelswise.com/greekfood.htm
Minsk is a pretty little city, much nicer than one might expect. The best time to go is in the summer when the weather is inviting and the streets, parks and shops are lively. Prices are good and tourists are few. It is a safe country to visit. With the exception of taxi drivers, who can be very greedy, most residents are very courteous and polite to tourists.
