Budapest abounds with a variety of cinemas, each with a distinctive character all its own. Some – such as Kultiplex and Szimpla - are part of clubs, others are cinemas that have quite good cafes or bars attached (Toldi, Puskin and - last time I checked - Hunnia). And there's a good choice of films (not just in English or Hungarian). Örökmozgó is especially noteworthy - good for cinephiles and shows oldies too (Twelve Angry Men and Rosemary's Baby are on this week). Művész is good for recent releases. The Corvin and Urania cinemas show more commercial fare, but are worth checking out. The former was at the centre of fighting in the 1956 revolution.
