This South Beach hotel is a great deal. You can sleep (if you want to) in peace yet walk to the madness in minutes. The art deco lobby is beautiful and the bar is a great place to sit and watch the street. Rates vary but expect to pay around $100 per night.

The 'Club Chuck' is a Baltimore institution. I lived in Balto from 1995-2003. The bar (and the city) changed in that time: it became less quirky and more conventionally hip. But the Charles remains (I suspect) well worth a visit. (NB: it was also one of the places for John Waters fans to catch a view of the man.)
