Most hotels cost around £100 per night but you can book three-four star apartments for around £90 per night and some of these can sleep up to four people.

This means it works out around £23pppn compared to the £50pppn at a hotel! Add to that the fact you get your own kitchen and lounge area and it can actually be quite a bargain!

You get a fantastic location for touring Edinburgh, it's in the middle of the Royal Mile a few minutes from the castle and about a 15 min walk from Princes Street.

The hotel is unlike other five-star propertys in that you get a lot of things free. These include unlimited movies, free wireless internet and a free minibar.

Kelvingrove is the most visited museum in Scotland and the most visited in the UK outside of London. It recently underwent a massive refurbishment which has added new collections to its already impressive invitory.

2- Museum Of Transport

Everything from a horse and carriage to vintage steam trains are available here. A great place for kids or for a family day out, plenty to see.

3- Glasgow Cathedral

Worthwhile just to see the building itself, it is hundreds of years old and still looks magnificent, not bad inside either.

4- Burrell Collection
