Head to midtown Sacramento, to 2004 Capitol Avenue, for fantastic wings and the "Monkey Knife Fight" beer, brewed on site and named after a Simpsons episode. Watch out for the 8% pomegranate cider though, it's delicious but lethal!

Camel Valley vineyard is near Bodmin, in the heart of the Cornish countryside, but it feels as if you could be in Italy. Although the vineyard is relatively new, it seems like it's been there forever. You can even leave the car at home and travel from Bodmin on the steam train. There are some beautiful cottages overlooking the vineyard and river we'd like to stay at next time! It's just a world away from city life. The wine is as wonderful as the setting, my favourite was the sparkling rosé, but my fiancée preferred the Camel Valley Red - all tasted on the friendliest tour I've ever been on - highly recommended!
