I stayed here 3 weeks and loved every minute! For me the downtown location is the best in the city – right in front of Ave Corrientes where really good theatres are, and really good restaurants. Walking distance to San Telmo, Congreso and surrounding areas. There is a Subte (subway) station right in front of the hostel and Palermo is 10 minutes away. The hostel itself was clean, cheap, had a kitchen, breakfast, Wi-Fi, laundry services, computers, friendly staff and much more. They have another location in Palermo as well but I opted for the location in the heart of downtown.
