The food in Harry's bistro in nearby Cushendall has to be experienced. Cushendall itself is a small village with an old Georgian main street and guard tower. The bar across the road from Harry's, McColum's, was named by the Guardian as one of the top ten bars in the world.

Drumkeerin guesthouse in Cushendun is particularly good value - the breakfasts are made with organic and homemade produce, there's a hostel that was once a barn and self-contained apartments as well as the guesthouse.
The couple who run it are both artists who run their own painting school. The view out over Cushendun towards Scotland is stunning.

Fantastic museum with exhibitions of Irish and international work. Set in the former Royal Kilmainham Hospital, the formal gardens are also worth a stroll.

Minori is a small town 4 kilometres from Amalfi. It is much cheaper for everything - food, drink and accommodation - and is a beautiful small town. It is ten minutes by ferry, a great way to see the coast, and a ticket costs about 4 euros. Well worth it. A great spot with very friendly people, particularly the staff in Antares restaurant, and beautiful food.
