The Bilderbuch Café is a lovely café in Schoeneberg. Its unique furniture and delicious breakfast are very well known (and loved) among Berliners. Go to the back of the café, where you will find a huge place that will remind you of some ancient castle's library. The walls are full with bookcases. If you take a book or a board game from the shelves you might happily want to spend a whole day there! Also there are regular readings, concerts and discussions. Check www.cafe-bilderbuch.de for further information. There is a huge breakfast buffet on sundays that is worth a try, too!

The "Kauf dich gluecklich" is a cafe/bistro in Prenzlauer Berg. It completely lives up to its translation "buy to make yourself happy". You can buy everything you see in there. Furniture, pictures on the walls and even the waitresses' earrings (if you ask for them). The "Kauf dich gluecklich" is known to make the best wafers and ice-cream you can get in Berlin. The pancakes are delicious also! Situated in the beautiful and cheap district of Prenzlauer Berg it is usually crowded with students. In summer it is not unusual that there are people lining up for ice-cream all the way out to the street! So don't miss it!
