This is THE place to buy a monster sandwich in Sydney.

It's set back from Pitt Street in a small arcade. You'll recognise it by the huge queue out of the door and down the street. The sandwiches are huge - more than enough to keep you going for an entire day. The lemon chicken comes very highly recommended. We only found out about it from a friend who lives in Sydney. It seems that everyone that goes is a regular and is greeted by name on arrival. If I'm in Sydney again and hungry at lunchtime, I'll be back...

The only downside - just a couple of seats in the window. Best to take your haul elsewhere to munch.

Lots of the dishes on offer were Asian inspired and we really enjoyed eating here.
Ca'n Reus is a really nice small boutique hotel in the village of Fornalutx. The hotel is in a wonderful old building. The rooms are small but perfectly formed and there is a wonderful lounge on the first floor with a roaring open fire (we went in November). The rooms look out over an orange grove and up into the mountains. Excellent breakfast and friendly, unfussy service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it....

A very stylish hotel if you're willing to splash out. Think white box with glass walls inside the shell of an ancient farmhouse. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but you're in a glorious clifftop location with amazing grounds. There is a great pool and outdoor hot-tubs with views over the sea. The breakfast is amazing and the dinner tasty though not exactly value for money.

I was slightly concerned that the service would be stuffy or too formal, but it was a relaxed place to eat dinner.

Not cheap but well worth splashing out for a special occasion. Fantastic, honest and well-prepared Scottish food with an interesting, ever-changing menu.

Friendly, non-pretentious service. Always busy and lively. Bring-your-own wine policy means that this is always a cheap place to visit.

The neighbourhood isn't the greatest but don't let that put you off.
The Lion Inn is tucked away in a small village in North Wales. It's a small country pub, recently refurbished, with rooms and a restaurant. It's an incredibly relaxing place to stay. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. There's a DVD player but no TV reception so make sure you bring a film that suits your mood! We woke up on Saturday morning to total peace and tranquility. All the food is locally sourced, well prepared and presented. The bar has a roaring open fire and a good selection of beers. Very friendly dogs live in the farm over the road. Well placed for walking, climbing or mountain biking around Betws-y-coed. Reasonably priced. We'd definitely return.

The food is very tasty and well prepared. The special house red is amazing and I'm gutted to have forgetten the name already. Child-friendly. Excellent and non-prententious service. Very reasonably priced. I would go back!
