    Victoria Mountain

Posted by saraweiss 24 September 2005

An impressive mountain on Hong Kong island, either walk up it (takes about one hour or more) or take the funicular railway. Queues for the rail can be harsh though, especially at the weekend - make sure you get there early. Once you get up to the top you have a fantastic view of Hong Kong and over to Kowloon on the coast and surpass tallest building on the island, quite exhilarating!

Hong Kong Island, buses go to the funicular regularly from the harbour station

    Museumsquartier

A complex of cultural museums/institutions and more, very close to the sprawling shopping street Mariahilferstr. Some nice bars and bookshops and interesting little knick-knack places in this popular place. Check out the old computer-games store there, nostalgia ahoy!

    Anker Klause

Posted by saraweiss 24 September 2005

Lovely cafe in summer, you can sit outside on the pavement right in the busiest area of kreuzberg and watch all the typical characters mosey on past. The breakfasts are good, too, and cheap! Recommended are the English and Mexican breakfasts. It's also an active and fun bar to go to in the evening.
