A unique cafe/restaurant housed inside one of Copenhagen's old tram cars, on a quiet square in the centre of Copenhagen. Can get quite hot inside in summer but there's seating outside (though sit outside and you miss out on the atmosphere). Food is cheap and cheerful - burgers, chips, omelettes. Touristy but fun.

Located a couple of minutes from the station in the heart of Kaikoura's (quiet) main street, and a stone's throw from all the shops and cafes. Friendly staff and quaintly charming (it's been converted from an old-fashioned hotel), extensive (free) video library and wonderful bbq/seating area out the back with hammocks overlooking the ocean - a wonderful place to stay.

A great Turkish restaurant with lots of atmosphere. Always busy and buzzing and perfect for a party or a date, or dinner with friends. The food is very reasonably priced and there are some delicious vegetarian dishes (don't miss the moussaka). If Gallipoli is full, try along the street at Cafe Gallipoli, or Gallipoli Again (yes, there's 3 of them!).

One of the hubs of nightlife in Venice. There's some great bars - Cafe Rosso, Duchamp, and the Orange bar on the square itself, and Cafe Noir and Cafe Blu just round the corner, the latter which has great live music. But it's not all about the nightlife, in the daytime Campo Santa Margherita is a lovely place to sit and relax, watch people go by, feed the sparrows, and grab a slice of delicious pizza from Pizza al Volo.
Campo Santa Margherita, Dorsoduro
A lovely little chilled out and sociable bar/pub close to King's Cross station. Great music, comfy sofas, very cosy and a nice place to relax. Always lots going on including a book exchange and regular live music.
52 York Way, King's Cross, London, N1 9AB
For anyone who's interested in architecture, art or design, this is a must-see. Dating from 1930-1950s, it looks a little austere from the outside, but the interiors are stunning - with a multitude of different rooms decorated with murals, mosaics, frescos, tapestries and sculpture. Free to visit in winter, in summer there is a small admission charge.
Rådhusplassen, by the harbour
A great Mexican restaurant in a lovely location. Friendly and cheerful with delicious food, don't miss the homemade salsa! Take a table outside by the canal on a warm evening and watch the world pass by.
