For the best entrance take the Bac from the east of the town (1.25 Euro for a boat trip in to the town).
There is plenty to see and do in and around the town, such as fishing trips, the GR34 coastal path and the unprepossing but interesting aquarium.
As well as going for Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh is a must-see in Cambodia. Disturbing and enlightening, the Grand Palace is much more friendly and interesting than Bangkok's and the prison museum and killing fields are unforgettable and moving reminders of a country and people that have seen more than most in recent years. But please, please avoid the offers to fire a missile at a cow!
Phnom Penh is a day's journey from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) or 4 hours on the boat from Siem Reap.
Take the cable car to Sentosa for unrivalled views both of Sentosa Island and the huge shipping port. It also goes right over the top of the cruise ships that go in, so you can have a good snoop at the rooms!
