Even if you don't want to do the whole length of the trail, a proper hike from the Irish Sea to the North Sea, try a quiet afternoon wander from Didsbury to Chorlton Water Park in search of wildlife, or a pub meal by the open fire in the historic Jackson's Boat, where they will even fix your bike for you, or hire you a new one.
